On Friday, 17th October 2025, the people of Lungi Modia, Port Loko District, gathered to bid farewell to the late Chairman Sheku Tejan Saccoh of the Port Loko District Council. The funeral drew thousands of mourners, including family, political leaders, and community members, all honoring a man celebrated for his visionary leadership, humility, and commitment to community development.
Among the dignitaries present was APC Incoming Flagbearer Sorie Sulaiman Sesay, who stood alongside senior party members to pay tribute to a leader whose service left a lasting mark on the district and beyond. Sesay described Saccoh as “a man whose leadership was defined by service, humility, and the desire to uplift others,” noting that his passing was a tremendous loss to both the APC and the nation.
Chairman Saccoh was widely recognized for his transformative initiatives in local governance, including improvements in infrastructure, education, and community welfare. His tenure saw significant progress in rural development and social empowerment programs. Colleagues and residents remembered him as a bridge-builder, someone who united communities and prioritized people’s needs over political gain.
