The Sierra Leone Police (SLP) Training Directorate has commenced a coaching exercise across the Western Area to strengthen officers’ understanding of the new Criminal Procedure Act (CPA) and corruption-related offences.
The initiative follows recent intensive trainings jointly conducted by the Law Officers’ Department and the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC)—programs aimed at enhancing integrity, professionalism, and institutional capacity within the force.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Joe Kamanda Bongay, Director of Training, the follow-up coaching is designed both to assess implementation progress among officers who participated in the earlier sessions and to extend the knowledge to those who did not attend.
The training team, comprising DSP Alpha Kamara (Head of Training), Chief Inspector Abdul Rahman Sankoh, Chief Inspector Aminata, and Sergeant Mohamed Fofanah, began the exercise at Waterloo Division and Rokel Police Post.
The program is scheduled to continue on Friday at Jui Stronghold and Hastings Police Station, as part of ongoing efforts to ensure that all police personnel are equipped with the latest legal and ethical standards in law enforcement.
