Forcians have made a powerful statement on the domestic basketball scene, emerging champions of the maiden Coaches Gala Basketball Knockout Tournament after a hard fought 63–59 victory over Sierra Titans in Game Two of the best of three finals.
The win secured a clean sweep for Forcians, who claimed both games in the series to become the first ever winners of the newly introduced competition. Their triumph not only highlights their consistency but also underscores their growing dominance in local basketball.
The finals had already promised high intensity following an electrifying Game One, where Forcians edged Sierra Titans 77–75 in a closely contested battle. That narrow victory set the stage for a decisive second encounter, with both sides eager to assert control. However, it was Forcians who rose to the occasion once again, displaying greater composure and tactical discipline.
In Game Two, Forcians dictated the tempo from the opening minutes, combining sharp offensive execution with resilient defensive play. Their ability to transition quickly from defense to attack proved crucial, as they capitalized on fast break opportunities and maintained steady scoring throughout the game.
A key component of their success was their efficiency from long range and the free throw line. Timely three pointers stretched the Titans’ defense, while consistent free throw shooting ensured they converted under pressure. Their fluid ball movement also created scoring opportunities, keeping Sierra Titans on the back foot for much of the contest.
Defensively, Forcians remained organized and aggressive, limiting the Titans’ offensive rhythm. Their pressure forced turnovers at critical moments, disrupting any sustained comeback attempts. Even as Sierra Titans mounted a late surge in the fourth quarter, Forcians maintained control, managing possession wisely and delivering crucial points in the closing stages.
Sierra Titans, to their credit, demonstrated resilience and determination, particularly in the final quarter where they attempted to close the gap. However, their efforts fell just short against a well-drilled Forcians side that showed maturity and confidence in seeing out the game.
This victory represents a historic achievement for Forcians, marking their first title in the Coaches Gala Tournament and reinforcing their status as one of the top teams in the country. Notably, the triumph also completes a domestic double for the team an accomplishment that further cements their place at the pinnacle of Sierra Leonean basketball.
