Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Abu Bakaar Magona, the current Local Unit Commander (LUC) of the Makeni Police Division and former LUC of Kambia, continues to earn admiration across Sierra Leone for his exemplary leadership, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to peacebuilding and community policing.
During his tenure in Kambia District, CSP Magona distinguished himself as one of the most effective and respected commanders in the history of the division. His inclusive and disciplined approach to law enforcement helped bridge the gap between the police and the public, strengthening trust and cooperation across all ten chiefdoms of Kambia.
Community stakeholders, youth leaders, journalists, transport operators, and civil society organizations have all commended him for his integrity, humility, and sense of duty. Many describe him as a decent, intelligent, and people-centered leader who led with fairness and a strong moral compass.
