Executive members, Members of Parliament and supporters of the All Peoples Congress (APC) party, have turned out in their numbers to give erstwhile president of Sierra Leone who also doubles as the national chairman and leader of the party Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma a hero’s welcome on his second homecoming, Sunday 6th August 2018.
The former president was welcomed from the Gbalamuya Custom point to Makeni city with a large representation of motorcade from different regions in sierra Leone according to the publicity secretary of the APC CorniliusDevoux the welcoming of the former president to them as a party is very key as they consider him as a legend and somebody who have worked so hard to develop and maintained the peace and development the country is currently enjoying.
He further dismissed the false rumors making the rounds on social media, that the ex-president is coming with mercenaries from guinea and also that the Government willsieze the passport of the former President, as false, unfounded and baseless and that on his absence the APC party has handled the issue with press releases and press conferences giving their position on the GTT Report. He went on to further answer the question about why using the Ex-president is using road instead of the Lungai International Airport as because he used the same route when leaving the shores of Sierra Leone.
Upon their arrival to Makeni a meeting was held at their party’s northern region headquarters.
Speaker after speaker the chairman and leader of APC Dr. Ernest BaiKoroma in his statement thanked the party for their enthusiasm to be united as a party and maintaining the peace he has developed and maintain for the past decade when he was the president of Sierra Leone and further called on all to keep the sprit going as a part as he said they are facing challenges as a party but that he said should keep them strong.
He however maintained that, this is a trying time for their party and that their resilient as party members especially the executive members will give hope and courage to their supporters that come 2023 they will bounce back to power. He added that the unity he saw on his return in the party has courage him and that further calls for support to each and every comrade of the party.
