By: Solid News

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed an indictment at the High Court in Kono against two employees of Koidu Government Hospital for allegedly misappropriating medical supplies intended for the Free Health Care Programme.

The accused, Christian Benjamin Karjue, Head Store Keeper, and Ibrahim Janneh, a Cleaner, face charges of Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence under Section 128(1) and Misappropriation of Public Property under Section 36(1) of the Anti-Corruption Act No. 12 of 2008, as amended.

According to the ACC, between April 10 and April 18, 2025, the two, along with other unidentified individuals, allegedly conspired to misappropriate thirteen cartons of medical supplies meant for the Free Health Care Programme at Koidu Government Hospital.

The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public resources and ensuring accountability, particularly within the health sector, where essential medical supplies are critical for public welfare.

For further inquiries, the ACC directed the public to contact Sylvanus Blake, Deputy Director of the Public Education and Outreach Department, at +23278501520 or via info@anticorruption.gov.sl.
