Mogbwemo Queens have written their names into Sierra Leone football history after completing a flawless 2025/26 Marampa Mines Women’s Premier League campaign in remarkable fashion.
The newly crowned champions sealed their historic unbeaten season with a commanding 6-0 victory over Ascentonians on Saturday, 9th May 2026, becoming the first top-flight football team in Sierra Leone, male or female, to complete an entire league season without dropping a single point.
Mogbwemo Queens were dominant throughout the campaign, winning all 22 league matches to finish with a perfect 66 points. They scored an impressive 72 goals while conceding only six, showcasing both attacking brilliance and defensive solidity.
Their consistency and commanding performances turned the league into a one-sided contest, with opponents struggling week after week to contain the relentless champions.
To crown an unforgettable season, Mogbwemo Queens also received a cash prize of Five Hundred Thousand Leones, further rewarding their historic achievement.
From thrilling attacking displays to disciplined defensive performances, the club established a new benchmark for women’s football in Sierra Leone.
During the medal presentation ceremony, the President of the Sierra Leone Football Association described the team’s extraordinary campaign as “a symbol of a new era” for women’s football in the country.
He commended the players, coaching staff, and management for their remarkable achievement and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to strengthening the women’s game nationwide.
Attention now shifts to the continental stage as Mogbwemo Queens prepare to represent Sierra Leone in the preliminary rounds of the 2026/27 CAF Women’s Champions League.
Judging by their historic unbeaten run, the Queens are not heading into African competition merely to participate, but with the ambition to compete strongly against the continent’s best.
Sierra Leone may have discovered a new football powerhouse, and Africa could soon be forced to take notice.
